The Likhit (written) exam in Nepal is a compulsory step for obtaining a driving license. It is a short, time-based test designed to evaluate your knowledge of traffic rules, road signs, and safe driving practices. Passing this exam is required before you can take the practical trial test.
The exam typically consists of 30-50 multiple-choice questions that must be answered within 30 minutes. You need to score at least 80% to pass.
The questions are based on the Nepali traffic rules and regulations. You will be tested on your understanding of road signs, right-of-way rules, speed limits, and other essential driving knowledge.
Only candidates who pass the written exam are allowed to appear in the practical driving trial.
The written exam is conducted at the venue choosen by the Transport Management Office (TMO) where you applied for your license. The TMO will notify you of the exam date and location after you submit your application and biometrics.x
